Kyusho Aiki Jutsu
What is Kyusho Jitsu / Dim Mak?
Kyusho Jitsu/ Dim mak is the Art of Pressure Point Fighting and Healing. Kyusho Jitsu is not a martial art in itself, but encompasses vital point striking and manipulation of the weaker anatomical structures of the body as it is found in all martial arts systems i.e. Kyusho Jitsu teaches you the Art of causing incapacitation through the use of pressure points, but is in it self not a delivery system. You are taught the points, its working, angle and direction and healing capabilities, but it is up to the practitioner to incorporate it into his or her existing martial art styles.
If victory or survival depended solely on strength, speed, the stronger more physically able person would always win. The old would have no chance against the young, the weaker female would have no chance against a male attacker. Have you ever wondered how some of the old Karate Masters managed to always to remain so capable against the much younger, stronger and agile opponent even into their late eightees and ninetees? It was because they knew the Art of Kyusho Jitsu; knew how to attack the central nervous system of the body, which is not reliant on the muscular strenght of the human body.
Kyusho literally means "one second". During the first second of confrontation your are able to end the situation through incapacitation of your opponent, or turn the situation into your favor from the first second of confrontation.
What is Aiki?
Aiki is the motion of harmonizing body, mind and spirit with that of your opponent/attacker.
What are pressure points?
Pressure points are places where nerves come to an end, crosses or splits to form an "Y". These pressure points are located between muscle and bones, and tendons and bones. By "activating" these points a signal can be sent directly into the body's central nervous system. Pressure points can be activated either by rubbing, pressing or striking, or a combination thereof.
Pressure points can be used either for healing or hurting (martial) purposes. Through the manipulation of pressure points practitioners can find relief for anxiety, stress, headaches, backaches, menstrual cramping, asthma etc.
Manipulation and attacking of Pressure points or vital spots is an ancient art which are found in all martial arts, and also widely know as Dim Mak in the Cantonese dialect, Dim Hsueh in the Mandarin dialect, Atemi is the Japanese Arts, Kyusho is the Okinawan Arts, and Hyul Do Bup is the Korean Arts. Even though pressure point fighting/manipulation are found in all martial arts, today only a handful of people have a true understanding of these points. In ancient times these "secrets" were only passed down to certain Masters and selected members of martial arts families.
Kyusho Jitsu South Africa in conjunction with Kyusho Aiki Jutsu International one of the World's leading pressure point organizations brings you pressure point instruction in a safe and structured manner.
Pressure points are named using the Chinese Acupuncture Terms. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) the lines of nerves or nerve meridians were named after the organ which they were related, so for example a point such as Heart 2 or H-2 would affect the related heart organ.
