Kyusho Aiki Jutsu Curriculum
The curriculum follows a stepped approach and is broken down in Levels 1 - 10. These ten levels are followed by various advanced and master levels. Regular grading and certifications take place each year.
Basic Training
Kyusho Jitsu South Africa members are introduced to various drills before they formally begin their study of the CDT techniques. These include amongst others:
- Basic combat movement drills;
- Basic pressure point studies;
- Various meditation, concentration and breathing techniques;
Combat Defence Techniques (CDT's)
The CDT'S was developed to help the students learn pressure points in an easy, safe and structured manner. These CDT’s are divided into five sets of five techniques – by belt level (yellow, orange, green, blue and brown) i.e. total 25 CDT’s.
The CDT’s start with basic/body techniques which include parrying moves, joint locks and counter strikes. These techniques are then further enhanced by applying them to pressure points. The proper application of these techniques with a combination of pressure points results in more effective controlling techniques with less power and altered states of consciousness (or unconsciousness..:-)) in your opponent. With a deeper understanding of these techniques all of the CDT’s will turn out to be knockouts and aiki applications. It is important to note that these CDT’s are not static and that the principals behind the CDT's are which needs to be understood. These can then be applied to any martial application.
