Spirituality
Introduction
As an introduction to Spirituality it is necessary to understand the difference between religiousness and spirituality. Spirituality is concerned with the knowing and experiencing of 'God', whereas regliousness is concerned with the form of worship. Most often there is very little correlation between these two aspects.
Spirituality cannot be understood by the rational mind. The scriptures left by the elightened beings (Jesus, Buddha etc) cannot be understood unless the heart and mind is pure, at a still point. It is impossible to understand the message of an englightened one unless your mind and heart is ready to accept the message. How can one with preconceived ideas and ego understand the message of once with no ego? It is like reading a Zen Koan; it makes no sense to the rational mind. However when the mind is right that which seems absurd can be understood. That is the problem with religiousness in that it takes the rational mind to interpret that which cannot be comprehended by the rational mind.
Often morality and religousness are confused with one another. Being a moral and good person does not necessarily make you a religious or a spiritual person. Morality can never make you a spiritual person, however spiritual people are always moral. Often in religious circles your religousness is measured by your moral actions, your charity. The intention and motive in your heart when practicing morality determines the nature thereof. Any action which is done to impress others, to hide your true nature is just a form, a mask which you wear for which there is no reward. Spirituality is not concered with others but with the intention of your heart. When you are spiritual moral actions come automatically, not as a sense of duty, but from a need within. True morality is more than often not seen, it is not put up on a pedestal for all to see and praise.
You will notice various sub-menus under the Spirituality page. From time to time I will be updating various scriptures and writings by some of greatest Spiritual teachers that ever walked this planet. They are to be read and be understood without form, without preconceived ideas about the various religions in which these are studied. If done so you will realise that the 'Truth', the spiritual message from all these enlightened ones are all the same as they flow from the very same source..
